I have recently found out a family secret that my grandad was put into Longrove mental Hospital in 1940 and apparently was there right until 1986 when he died. Has anyone on here worked at Longrove or does anyone have any information on this institution. His name was George Alpe and he would have been 80 when he died. Please can anybody help?

Looking for Ian WATERMAN son of Douglas & Nancy(nee Oakshott) WATERMAN. Ian would be about 60 years old.
Ian's dad was a Flight Engineer in the R.A.F. and was killed whilst on a bombing raid in the early 1940's. He was one of a family of 11 children to George & Kate WATERMAN hailing from Garden Cottages, East Street. Sadly no longer there.
After Douglas was killed, Nancy eventually married an ex Navy man but I do not know the surname. Iheard a rumor that they had moved to Weston-Super-Mare. Any Information re Ian or any other of the WATERMAN family will be very much appreciated. Thankyou

In 1943 I flew 30 operations in Lancaster bombers from 12 Squadron, Wickenby, Lincolnshire. I have seen the name of my Navigator, Harry Furnell on the webpage of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. I see he died on 17th.April 1945 at the age of 24. After our final op. with 12 Sqdn. we were posted in different directions and lost touch. Is any of his family still in Epsom ? If so I would appreciate details of what happened. He was a great navigator and we the rest of the Crew placed our complete faith and trust in him. He never failed to guide us there and back home again.

I have been given this address as being most helpfull. An elderly gentleman in Canada has been trying to trace the grave of his grandfather Alfred Edward Spragg who died on the 9 Feb 1953 at Worster Park, Cheam. He was a house builder aged 85 years. He has a photo of his grandfather in British Army uniform but nobody was able to help with the regiment because the details are not clear enough. Any suggestions where I can look. I am not a researcher (as you probably can see)

- I am still trying to locate Robert and Audrey Harrington from the Epsom area, met on holiday at Burwell, Sept. 1998. -I am desperately looking for a copy of an IMP CD PCD 810 with Douglas Boyd and the Gabrieli String Quartet as our copy was actually broken by a kitten!
